What is the process of buying a headstone?
We know buying a headstone for your loved one can be daunting, but we pride ourselves on making it as easy as possible for our customers.
Here are some things to have prepared and consider before purchasing a headstone.
Things To Have Prepared
Birth date and death date
Name going on stone (full name or nickname)
Cemetery name and location
All of this information is usually located in the obituary.
Things To Consider
What style of stone would you prefer? (flat, bevel, upright or specialty such as heart, teddy bear, butterfly, etc.)
What color granite do you prefer? (grey, pink, black, etc.)
Would you prefer a traditional design or custom design?
What did your loved one enjoy doing? (hobbies or interests for custom designs)
Would you like a picture on the headstone?
Once you have all the standard information (name, dates, cemetery) gathered for the stone and a rough idea of color and style, we can work together to assemble your memorial.
When you come into the office, we gather the standard information and then help you find designs to fit your loved one’s unique life and memory. From there, we will draw up the design so you can see precisely what the headstone will look like. Once the design is finalized, you can move forward with payment.
Once the stone is paid for, we ask you to place the provided flag on the plot, and we begin the process of creating the monument and placing it in the cemetery, which takes approximately 6-8 months for a standard headstone. After we have placed stone, we give you a call to let you know the stone is ready to be viewed in the cemetery.
